Athirappilly and Vazhachal will not be open today; Things travelers need to know
Tourist places in Kerala are open after months of lockdown. Among them, Athirappilly and Vazhachal, the most important waterfalls in Kerala, were announced to be open from October 15, but the opening has been postponed due to the high prevalence of Kovid in the region. The opening date will be announced later, officials said.
When it opens, it is not possible for tourists to wander around Athirappilly as they used to. Due to the current situation, tourists have to meet certain criteria to come here. They are described below. Everyone should know one thing.
Children below 10 years of age and above 60 years of age have no access to Athirappilly and Vazhachal centers. Admission is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Similarly, only 100 people will be admitted to Athirappilly at a time.
Sanitation will be provided at the regular ticket counter and tickets will be available for online booking at Athirappilly and Vazhachal centers. An online token system that shows the time you can stay there along with the ticket will also be launched soon. Admission will be allowed only at the time indicated on the ticket. The visit must be completed within a maximum of 1 hour from the time of admission.
Forest staff and VSS guides will have masks, gloves, face shields, sample sanitizers and other safety equipment. Areas where visitors are present will be disinfected at regular intervals. Visitors are allowed inside only after checking the body temperature. Exceeding the temperature may not only prevent entry, but may also require a medical checkup.
Visitors entering these places must maintain proper social distance, wear proper masks and disinfect their hands with sanitizer. Food items and bottles should not be thrown away carelessly. At the same time, they have to take it all back on their own. Do not stop and eat on the way to Athirappilly.
